Continuing a successful collaboration in Kosovo and FYR Macedonia, SAFOSO is supporting the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in its implementation of risk-based SPS border inspections in the Western Balkan region.

Together with experts from the national sanitary and phytosanitary authorities, we are analyzing historical import data based on which a proposal for a risk-based inspection program is subsequently developed. The goal of the revised border inspection programs is to maintain or even increase the protection of public health while reducing the administrative and financial burden for government and importers alike.
