Project Background
Many data on animal health are routinely collected and saved in different national databases. Thanks to new developments in digitalization and automated data analysis of data from different sources can now be connected and analysed jointly, thereby creating new insights in national animal health. The Swiss Federal food safety and veterinary office launched a pilot project to assess the possibilities and added value of such automated data analysis for the national veterinary service.
Our Work
We accompanied this pilot project with an evaluation. Jointly with the project stakeholders we identified relevant quantitative data for the evaluation, and we developed the necessary data collection tools. After the pilot period, we conducted several interviews to obtain the stakeholders’ point of view. Our results of this evaluation were used by the Federal food safety and veterinary office to decide about the continuation and expansion of the project.
