African Swine Fever incursions are a continuing threat for the European Union. This project will integrate the latest developments in preventive, diagnostic and training approaches to improve prevention and early detection activities.
The project is funded by the European Union.
SAFOSO, as leader of ASFORCE theme 5 “Training and knowledge transfer” organized a training workshop in Madrid, Spain, on April 14-16, 2013. Similar workshops will be provided in Russia (June) and Bulgaria (September). The main goal of these workshops is to provide training for veterinarians to increase risk awareness and capacity of incident response.
SAFOSO, prepared a flyer about African Swine Fever. The flyer answers some of the most common related “Frequently Asked Questions”, like for example “How is the virus transmitted?” or “Can I vaccinate my animals against ASF?”. It is ideal to be used in disease awareness campaigns, critical in times when the disease keeps spreading in Eastern Europe.
Please feel free to download it here and distribute it among hunters, veterinarians or other related swine industry organizations. To print it in flyer format, users should set their printing options as “booklet layout-left binding-2 pages per sheet”.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement N° 311931.
