Katharina Stärk was contracted by FAO (AGDF) to help develop a tool to assess the capacity of food control systems at country level.

Food control systems are understood to  integrate mandatory regulatory approaches with preventive and educational strategies that protect the whole food chain.

The first draft of the assessment tool will be field-tested by FAO in a number of countries by FAO before revision and distribution.
