Julia joined SAFOSO as a Junior Consultant in October 2023. She is involved in several SAFOSO projects and in parallel she is taking part in the residency programme at the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH).

Julia graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Helsinki. Following graduation, she gathered knowledge and experience in fields of food safety and animal welfare during her work as an official veterinarian in Finland.

She has also gained valuable experience in animal disease diagnostics while working in a cantonal laboratory in Switzerland. She was also member of the COVID-19 research team at the Department of Clinical Diagnostics at the Vetsuisse-Faculty in Zürich.
