Isabel is a veterinarian and epidemiologist, supervising and implementing various projects in the field of veterinary public health. Her primary focus lies on epidemiological investigations, including data analysis, as well as international capacity-building and research initiatives. Thriving in interdisciplinary environments, she enjoys tackling the challenges of effective communication and knowledge transfer among stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. In addition, she has a strong passion for teaching. She enjoys sharing information, particularly in regions with limited availability of educational resources.
Isabel's extensive project portfolio spans a wide spectrum of topics, encompassing animal health & welfare, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, and international trade of food commodities.
After graduating as a veterinarian from the Vetsuisse-Faculty of Bern, Isabel conducted her doctoral thesis at the Vetsuisse-Faculty in Zurich. Following her graduation, she started her residency program with the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH) at the Veterinary Public Health Institute of the Vetsuisse-Faculty in Bern and became a Diplomate of the ECVPH in 2016. Concurrently, she successfully completed the training program for the Swiss Official Veterinarian. Isabel joined SAFOSO in 2017.
