SAFOSO is involved, as a subject matter expert, in the implementation of the "Community outreach to support understanding of African Swine Fever (ASF) ecology and epidemiology in Eastern Europe: training and implementation for methods and strategies for control and prevention" project.

This is a 12-month project funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and USSCCCWMD, of the United States of America.  The project is implemented in Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Armenia with the main objective of supporting the design and the implementation of outreach activities in the region to increase the awareness towards ASF and the utilization of best practices for the prevention and control of the disease.

To achieve this objective, SAFOSO is leading the implementation of regional workshops to define the scope and content of outreach activities and to implement the trainers’ training. Furthermore, SAFOSO is involved in the supervision of outreach activities in each country.
